Chef Mike Johnson’s path to glory started in the kitchens of early American celebrity chefs like Emeril Lagasse and Charlie Trotter. Experience and travel lead Mike back to his hometown of St. Louis, MO where he continues to innovate the culinary scene. Johnson has always prided himself on creating approachable, chef-inspired, and fun food for everyone who dines at his spots. Whether brunching lakeside at the historic Forest Park Boathouse, or grabbing a late-night burger and fries at the High Pointe Drive-In, Johnson’s fare never disappoints. His acclaimed St. Louis-style barbecue concept Sugarfire Smokehouse was named Best Barbecue by the Travel Channel and is quickly adding locations across the country. His latest concept, Chicken Out, opened in St. Louis this June, and is a creative spin on the chicken sandwich segment serving up seriously tasty, pressure-fried chicken sandwiches.
